2.5-Inch iWatch Concept With Curved, Rectangular Display Demoed in New Video

Two weeks ago, Reuters released a report suggesting the iWatch's screen might measure in at 2.5-inches diagonally. The rumor came as a bit of a shock, because previous reports had all pointed towards a device with a much smaller display, in the range of 1.3 to 1.7 inches.

Previous concept images and videos have all centered on designs with smaller screens in line with past rumors, but SET Solution has created a new concept video demoing what a 2.5-inch iWatch might look like.

While it is hard to determine the size of the watch in the concept video given the lack of a reference point like a wrist, the slight curve to the display and the rectangular shape are also design details that were provided by Reuters. According to the site, the iWatch will protrude slightly from the band to create an arch shape that will fit around a wrist, and the face is expected to be "slightly rectangular."

Very little is known about the iWatch's user interface and operating system, aside from rumors suggesting that it will run a version of iOS 8. The iPhone-style app display in the video is pure speculation, as are the device's dimensions and battery life.

In addition to a 2.5-inch display size, the iWatch may also be available in smaller variations, as rumors have pointed towards multiple sizes and styles to fit a wide array of fashion preferences. The device is also expected to include multiple health and fitness sensors, wireless charging, and access to features like Messages and notifications through iPhone/iPad integration. Currently, rumors are pointing towards an October release date for the device.

PORT ANY ROM TO MTK DEVICE IN 5 MINS

PORT ANY ROM TO YOUR DEVICE

Now a days android Developers are rapidly updating the OS that the new phone, whichever we purchase either its nexus 5 or samsung S4. It becomes really Oldie or dump when we dont have a updated OS while other low grade phones do have.

So after all the thoughts and after many emails and on demands of my readers who want to know my method of porting the rom from other devices, i made this tutorial for them.

TALKED MUCH LETS GET TO WORK! :D

So first of all, i will start with, You should have proper knowledge on what you are doing and what this is all about. If you dont know whats going on with this post. You can hit the X(close) button and go to sleep as this is not for you. Plus Most Importantly you will need a Mind, in working Condition.

Please note that the rom you wanna port should be of same CPU Like Mtk6577=>Mtk6577. Also somehow you can upgrade a rom like mtk6577=>mtk6589 but you can never downgrade mtk6589=>mtk6577. In my experience you can take any resolution phone for port. I.e. once i ported a MMX 110 5'' display rom to my iball andi 4.5'' display. And it actually worked . Kudos!

This is a tutorial on how i port/make new roms for my lovely device and boosts its appearance and ram and overall experience.

Caution: Do it at your own risk. Don't blame me for anything. You are doing at you own will. If you broke something don't point finger at me. Just let me know ill try to help you out. If you don't know what's going on then you should probably read other posts on my blog.

Whats needed:

  1. A Pc/Laptop
  2. Java and all other android related things installed i.e. ADB ,etc
  3. XDA kitchen
  4. Cygwin
  5. A Base rom( Which you have as stock or which is currently running smoothly) - Your stock rom
  6. A Port rom (which you wanna port) - A rom which is not meant for your device but have same specs and you want to port it to your phone.
  7. A Mind (MOST IMPORTANT) if not. Please Leave. xD :D
Okay Lets Go,

1> Download JAVA JDK from its official site or download from Here and install it. It will take few minutes.

2> Then Download Latest Android Kitchen from Here
3> Download Cygwin from Here
Run the Cygwin setup.exe and select the defaults for the installation paths, such as:
- install from internet
- install to C:\cygwin

Now read carefully:

At the 'Select Packages' screen, go to the 'Search' box to look for the following package:
* gcc (found under 'Devel')
- Click on the '+' symbol at the section it's found under
- Then find this single package (only the one with this exact name, not multiple similarly-named ones!) and click 'Skip' once so that it changes to show a version number
Go back to the Search box and repeat the above steps for the rest of the packages:
* perl (found under 'Interpreters')
* cpio (found under 'Utils')
* util-linux (found under 'Utils')
* ncurses (found under 'Utils')
* zip (found under 'Archive')
* unzip (found under 'Archive')
* wget (found under 'Web')

4> Press Next to process the installation and install the packages needed for making a custom roms.

5>When installation has been completed, click on your new Cygwin desktop shortcut. This will open a terminal session that will run some initialization.
With the Cygwin terminal still open, we need to configure the path to the Java application so that it can be executed within Cygwin.
Your Cygwin is now ready for the kitchen!
Please compare the following picture with your preparation:
Unzip the Android Kitchen to the C:\cygwin\home\Username folder
Screenshot:

Now fire up cygwin and type command "cd kitchen" without inverted commas.

Then type ./menu and hit enter.
Now you will see a window like this.

Now i will directly guide you how i port roms and skip anything else:

Just enter "00" hit enter, and then "28" and hit enter

Now you will see a window asking two options,

Type "a" and hit enter.

now go to C:\cygwin\home\username\kitchen\original_update
and place the two roms 1)Stock or currently working rom 2) Port Rom

-Now Go back to the kitchen menu and hit enter. Now it will ask you to choose the stock rom. Choose the rom which is currently working for you and hit enter.

-Now it will ask you to choose the rom you wanna port. Choose it and hit enter.

-READ EVERYTHING CAREFULLY AND PRESS ENTER. Let it port the boot.imgs for you.

Have patience it will take some time.
It will extract kernels, decompile it, port it, recompile it,etc. So let it work and have a cup of coffee in meanwhile. :D

-Now it will end and it will get back you to the porting menu. (CONSIDER THAT DONE AND EXIT)

-Now Go to the C:\cygwin\home\username\kitchen\ and you will see a working folder.

-Go to it. And now just copy the modified boot.img from that folder and copy it to the orginal ported rom you downloaded earlier from my previous posts or any other original ported rom you wanna port for your device.

-Open the rom zip file with Winrar and replace the boot.img

-Now just put it in root of SD CARD and flash it with your suitable recovery. If the specs of the port rom is same you will run the newly cooked rom without any errors XD

And if you hit an error let me know ill show you how to Solve that.
Thanks readers. Have fun Porting.

iPhone 6 renders show design details that physical mockups ignore

9MP_iPhone6_render_backdetails copy
For months, physical mockups, display components, front covers, and schematics for Apple’s upcoming iPhone 6 have leaked on the web. However, the physical reconstructions and diagrams simply do not do the potential design of the redesigned smartphone justice. Based on recent reports and earlier part leaks, designer Mark Pelin has created a set of iPhone 6 design renders that might just be the clearest and nicest looking view of the potential phone. You can see the full image gallery below from Pelin:

Google Play Services 5.0 now available with Android Wear support, security enhancements

Google today announced that a major update to Play Services is now rolled out, bumping it from version 4.4 to 5.0. Many of the details in this update were announced at Google I/O last week, but the company also broke everything down in blog post today, as well. The update began rolling out after I/O, but now is entirely rolled out to devices world-wide.
First off, the Play Services update introduces a new set of APIs that improve the ability to have apps interact with Android wearables. These APIs offer a low-latancy, persistent data store that allows developers to easily sync information between their phone apps and wearable devices. Today’s update also provides a new API that allows apps to easily install a dynamic security provider. This will make it a lot easier for Google to deploy security fixes to apps and devices.

Next up, Play Services 5.0 introduces updates to the gaming abilities of Android. Quests are a new set of APIs that allow developers to implement time-based goals for players, and should they meet the goals, reward them with new content. Saved games is another new feature that allows developers to store a player’s game progress in the cloud and access it from their other devices. This means that you can pause a game on one device and resume where you left of on another.

Second Windows Phone 8.1 video leaks

Videos detailing new features that will be found in Windows Phone 8.1 have been posted online.
Windows Phone 8.1 is expected to have its debut at Microsoft’s Build event later this week, alongside the Nokia Lumia 630.
The videos reveal new Start screen backgrounds and the existence of a parallax effect when scrolling. They also show that Microsoft has added the option to wrap an image around existing tiles.
Article continues after the video
The second video also shows off what is claimed to be the Nokia Lumia 930. The international version of the Nokia Icon, the 930 is also known by its codename Martini.
It shows off a device with a 4.5-inch screen and on-screen buttons. Windows Phone 8.1 has long been rumoured to see the dropping of the physical buttons on the front of Windows-based smartphones.
Other major features of Windows 8.1 that are expected to be shown off officially for the first time include Microsoft’s Siri rival, Cortana.
Both the Lumia 930 and 630 are expected to debut later this week alongside Windows Phone 8.1.
There is no indication of when the phones will land in stores though. It’s looking increasingly likely we’ll have to wait until the event for that information.
